Pompeii an endless Roman wonder!
Pompei una storia decisamente triste di migliaia di morti che però ci ha conservato una città romana cristallizata al momento dell’eruzione che ci ha donato una quantità di notizie sulla vita romana che in nessun altro modo avremmo potuto ottenere. Una visita la sito archeologico per gli appassionati di storia antica è qualcosa di incredibile. Per quanto mi riguarda sono uscita la sera dal sito archeologico con le lacrime agli occhi!
Pompeii has a sad story, thousands of people died, not many managed to survive to the sudden eruption of Mount Vesuvium which took place in a short period of time and buried not only this town but the entire area for thousands of kilometers. Anyhow, the sudden crystallization of the site, has given us the possibility to know such an enormous quantity of information about the Roman life, that no other Latin author could have given us the same important details. Those passionate for ancient history should absolutely come to see this incredible place. I left the archaeological site with tears in my eyes (of course, I am not expecting everyone to do the same!).
Di Pompei è stato detto tanto e non sono qui per raccontarvi nuovamente la storia di cui ho peraltro aggiunto dei video per avvolgervi di quanto è accaduto nello spazio di una notte ed un giorno tutta l’area attorno al Vesuvio era sparita sotto gli occhi di tutti per conservarsi intatta per migliaia di anni e restituirci questa meraviglia a tutti coloro che vengono a visitare questo luogo magico.
About Pompeii has been said a lot and I am not here to tell you about the eruption, I even added some short videos about it. But to just to show you some of the many pics I have taken of the place.
La cosa che mi ha impressionato di più è stato l’ordine cittadino, l’acqua presente ovunque: ogni strada aveva la sua fontana, le terme erano gratuite e ce ne erano per tutti. Inoltre alcune case, le più benestanti ne avevano persino private.
The thing I felt more, was the beauty of the place, everything was organized, every street had a public fountain, the Thermae were free, everyone had the possibility to be clean and spend free time socializing. Some rich houses had even private thermal baths to invite friends and spend time together. Social life was more important than that of today’s society and people spent their time more outside than in houses. I am not sure that technology has really helped the manhood.
Una visita a questa cittadina eterna vale veramente la pena.
Everyone should come to visit such an amazing place.
