Castellum Axia and the invisible Etruscan Acropolis…
Seconda puntata a Castel d’Asso vicino Viterbo in una valle decisamente non solo meravigliosa dal punto di vista visivo ma piena di energie dimenticate, alla ricerca dell’acropoli etrusca, in una giornata uggiosa ma fortunatamente non molto fredda. Una bellissima passeggiata nella quale peraltro sono riuscita a vedere alcuni particolari della necropoli che non avevo notato la volta precedente. Come nella foto qui in basso alcune tombe hanno iscrizioni che indicano la famiglia di appartenenza.
I did another exploration in the site of the ancient Etruscan Axia, not far from the modern town of Viterbo to try to locate its acropolis. The place with its gorgeous canyons it is amazing, not only for the green images that capture the eyes of everyone that walks around, but, also because of the many energies that we can feel here. It was a fabulous 3-hours walk in a rainy but not too cold day. I also managed to capture some details of some family Etruscan tombs engraved in the tufa stone, as showed in the picture below.
Attraverso il ponte che collega l’acropoli con la necropoli, anche questo come quello romano già crollato probabilmente non avrà vita lunga e quindi mi avventuro in cima alla rocca dove si trova il castello medievale anche quello rigorosamente abbandonato ma, dell’acropoli di Axia non c’è traccia.
I managed to cross the river which had to connect the necropolis to the acropolis, although this bridge as the Roman one (which has already collapsed) will not have a long life because it is very damaged. Then as the video shows I made my way to the top of the hill where I only found the abandoned Medieval castle but there is no evidence of the acropolis of Axia.
Scomparsa come la civiltà etrusca. Nessun tipo di segno di nulla. Ma cercherò di darvi altre informazioni in merito a questo bellissimo sito. Per ora potete guardare le mie foto ed il mio video!
Disappeared as the Etruscan civilization. Nothing to see. I will anyway, searching for clues in the site to try to give you some information about this amazing site. For now you can see my pictures and my short video!
