In the second stage of the XTerra Italy the Spanish conquer Scanno but both the Italians reached a wonderful bronze!

In the second stage of the XTerra Italy of Scanno an amazing victory of the Spanish Roger Serrano and of Eva Garcia Gonzalez both conquistadores in the Italian event.

Serrano was able to lead the race from the beginning to the end. The Swiss athlete Xavier Dafflon could only try reduce the time gap of the swim performing an incredible best bike split of 1h36’44 and best run with the time of 47″45. Serrano crossed the finish 27 seconds ahead of the Swiss with the time of 2h51’49, in second Dafflon in 2h52’15 and third place for the talented Italian U23 cross world champion Marcello Ugazio.

The Spanish at his 4th edition was very happy of his victory and loves this particular technical course here because it requires a strong mind to perform.

In the women’s race the Swiss Renata Bucher notwithstanding a marvelous swim and bike split could not keep up with the strong run of the Gonzalez who passed her during the run and managed to triumph in Scanno with the wonderful final time of 3h30’04. Behind her in second place the Austrian Carina Wasle 3h35’20 and only 7 seconds behind the Italian Sandra Mairhofer. The tribe of the cross Triathlon will move to its next important appointment in Germany for the XTerra European Championship on the 18th of August…Good Luck Warriors!
